The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) admission 2026–27 offers flexible learning for students through open schooling in 10th (Secondary) and 12th (Senior Secondary) levels. The open school 10th admission process and open school 12th admission online can be completed by filling the official open board school admission form within the NIOS application last date 2026–27. Admission depends on the open school eligibility criteria (basic qualifications for 10th and 12th), and students must pay the prescribed open schooling registration fees. Learners in West Bengal can also apply through the state open school admission in Siliguri, popularly known as Siliguri open school admission. For enrollment, the required open school admission documents include age, identity, and address proof along with mark sheets and photographs. NIOS provides multiple options: Stream 1 & 2 admissions for new or transfer/reappearing students, On-Demand Stream 3 & 4 admissions for flexible exam schedules, and an open school re-admission process for dropouts to continue their studies. Thus, secondary and senior secondary open schooling admission under NIOS and state boards ensures inclusive education for fresh, continuing, and reappearing learners.

The Board of Open Schooling and Skill Education (BOSSE), Sikkim, is a recognized open schooling board established under Act No. 14 of 2020 of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly. Its mission is to provide flexible, accessible, and skill-integrated education for students who need alternatives to traditional schooling, including school dropouts, working professionals, and learners from diverse economic backgrounds BOSSE is aimed at democratizing education and making it accessible to anyone needing an alternative to traditional schooling, strengthening academic and skill development with flexible methodologies and digital support.
